Liverpool fans have showered praise on captain Jordan Henderson for a brilliant all-round performance against Sheffield United last night.
The 30-year-old was back to start his second game in a row in midfield after a recent thigh injury, with Fabinho dropping back into central defence to cover for Virgil van Dijk.
Liverpool were given an early scare, with Sander Berge converting a penalty after VAR adjudged Fabinho to have fouled Oli McBurnie right on the edge of the area.
But the Reds hit back through Roberto Firmino, and the Diogo Jota got the winner with a header in the second half.
Chris Wilder’s Blades were not without their chances though, and might have walked away with a point had they been more clinical.
It is clear that Liverpool have room for improvement at the moment, but the most important thing is results, especially with many teams faltering at the moment.
£20 million star Henderson (BBC Sport) had a particularly good game in the engine room.
The England international covered so much ground next to Gini Wijnaldum, with Jota operating as an attacking midfielder.
And it was his cross that led to Liverpool’s equalising goal.
He had a passing accuracy of 90% completing 83 of 92, made three clearances, made three interceptions and created one chance according to LFC Data.
On social media, Liverpool supporters hailed their captain for a fine display:

Wrecks my head how some people don’t rate Jordan Henderson as one of the best midfielders in the world.

There are better technical players than Jordan Henderson. There are physically stronger, more dominant players. But there aren’t many players that are as technical, as physical, as intense, as determined and as hardworking all in the one package.
