Liverpool fans react to Joe Gomez reports amid Spurs, Arsenal links

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from 90min at the weekend which claimed that Joe Gomez is considering his future at Anfield.

Gomez has played more of a peripheral role for the Reds this season. He has made one Premier League start, and two substitute appearances. He has also started just one game in both the Champions League and Carabao Cup.

90min reports that the £3.5 million signing is growing frustrated at Anfield, and could be open to a move away.

It is suggested that the former Charlton Athletic man would like to return to London if he does leave – and Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal would be interested if he did become available in a future window.

Interestingly, the report appears to have divided some Liverpool supporters on social media. Some are adamant that there can be nothing in the speculation. They cannot believe that Gomez could want to leave the Reds, even if he is not playing too much right now.

However, others have taken a different stance. Some have expressed some sympathy for the England international, and could understand why he may be frustrated. Dejan Lovren currently looks to be ahead of him in the pecking order right now, and a section of the supporters believe that that should not be the case.

And finally, there are some fans who have suggested that Liverpool should be open to a sale. They have their doubts over whether he will realise his potential and prove good enough for a regular spot in the Reds’ side.
