Liverpool fans react to James Milner’s display against Leicester

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to suggest that signing James Milner may be up there amongst the club’s best pieces of business in recent history after his performance against Leicester City.

Jurgen Klopp’s side maintained their flawless record in the Premier League this season as they beat the Foxes 2-1 at Anfield. It was not an easy afternoon for the Reds, but they secured the three points in dramatic fashion.

It was Milner who set up the opening goal. The Englishman played a stunning long pass from the left flank into the path of Sadio Mane. Unsurprisingly, the forward found the back of the net with a composed finish.

And Milner went on to score the winner in stoppage-time. The 33-year-old converted a penalty to continue his incredible record of never losing a Premier League game in which he has scored.

It was perhaps a rare occasion where Milner grabbed the headlines. But Reds fans have used the game as an opportunity to pay tribute to the former Leeds trainee’s overall contribution since he arrived on Merseyside.

Milner has been an outstanding servant for Liverpool. Some fans want to see the midfielder offered a new contract, while others have questioned whether the club have produced a better free transfer in their history.
