Liverpool suffered a crushing 3-1 defeat against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon – but some of the club’s fans on Twitter did give credit to their player Mohamed Salah for his performance.
The Reds fell apart late in the second-half to throw away their one-goal lead and leave the King Power Stadium with zero points in the Premier League fixture.
Despite going ahead through Salah’s exquisite finish, Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester fought back in empathic fashion.
James Maddison, Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes were all on the scoresheet within a seven-minute period, as they jumped up to second in the league and opened up a six-point cushion over fourth-placed Liverpool.
Reds goalkeeper Alisson Becker will once again be singled out by pundits after a mistake that lead to Vardy’s goal, where he charged off his line and showed miscommunication with the defender.
A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media were left extremely frustrated after a third consecutive loss, but felt one man deserved credit.
Salah, 28, showed his quality with an instinctive left-footed finish to put his side ahead at the time.
The right-winger now has 17 Premier League games all season, but the next time the Reds play they could be below Chelsea and West Ham.
Here are some Reds supporters discussing Salah:
Feel sorry for Salah . If it wasn’t for him we’d be a bottom half side
