A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Curtis Jones’ performance as the Reds suffered a surprise defeat in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Jurgen Klopp left a number of key players on the bench for the clash with Atalanta at Anfield. And, despite selecting the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, the Reds produced a disappointing performance.

They looked lacklustre during a goalless first-half. And they were punished after the break with the Premier League champions conceding twice in five minutes.
Some of the fringe players involved may be left to reflect on a missed opportunity. The likes of Neco Williams and Divock Origi seemed to struggle to make much of an impact.
However, it appears that some felt that Jones was one of the few who could be content with his display in the loss.

The teenager did come in for some criticism on social media. However, several insisted that he was one of their better performers.
As shown by Whoscored.com, only the two starting centre-backs made a greater number of successful passes. And no Liverpool player managed more tackles than Jones.
Liverpool remain in a strong position in their Champions League group. A victory in one of their final two games will still see them through to the knockout stages of the competition.
And Jones managed to do enough to alleviate some of the fans’ disappointment with his display.
