Liverpool fans react to comments from Leeds winger Raphinha

Leeds United’s Raphinha claims it’s difficult to explain how he feels hearing reports linking as a Liverpool target, as well as a Manchester United one.

Raphinha, 24, has enjoyed a superb first year in English football, as he helped Leeds finish ninth in the Premier League table following their return to the top flight.

The Brazilian winger scored six goals and set up nine assists in 31 appearances across all competitions during his debut Leeds campaign.

UOL Esporte previously claimed that both Liverpool and Man United are interested in Raphinha.

The left-footed wide man seems flattered by the rumours, albeit he’s made it clear that he’s happy right now at Elland Road with Leeds.

Celtic fans left short-changed by Sky Sports once again

“It is difficult to define how I feel when I hear speculation about giant teams like Liverpool and Manchester United interested in signing me. Man, I grew up watching these teams on television. I saw Rooney, Van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo, but I also saw Gerrard, as well as others like Henry, Deco, Lampard,” he told UOL Esporte.

“And today I’m making people happy with my football. I am not only talking about the other clubs, but also Leeds, who was the one who bet on me. They are all very happy, including the fans who seem to have a great affection for me. I have a contract for another four years and I don’t even think about leaving here for exactly this reason: I am happy and making others happy.”

Raphinha deserves to be Liverpool target

After hearing his fresh comments, some Liverpool fans are keen to see Raphinha swap Yorkshire for Merseyside.

The skilful winger has quickly made himself a household name in England within one year in the Premier League, and surely the best is still to come from him.

The Reds have so much talent in their squad with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Robeto Firmino and Sadio Mane. However, manager Jurgen Klopp did have times during the season where he was crying out for another match-winner to bring into the XI.

Leeds should be able to keep hold of their dazzling winger for another year, but a move further down the line seems plausible.
