Liverpool fans react as reports link Adrien Rabiot to Anfield

Liverpool fans have responded to fresh reports that the club have contacted Adrien Rabiot’s agent about a possible free transfer for his client to Anfield.

As reported by ESPN, the Reds are very keen to sign the Paris Saint-Germain player.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is supposedly a long-term admirer of the French playmaker.

Rabiot has officially moved into the final year of his contract at the Parc des Princes and would be able to leave for nothing next summer if he doesn’t agree fresh terms.

The French champions have put multiple offers to him but he has rejected them all so far, suggesting that his future may lie elsewhere.

Rabiot was strongly linked with a move to Barcelona earlier this summer.

But Liverpool may feel as though they’d have an edge in any race with the Spanish giants.

Last October Rabiot told French radio station RMC (as quoted by ESPN): “I would love to play in the Premier League, not necessarily one club in particular, even though I was very fond of Liverpool when I was young.”

What would he bring to Liverpool?

Rabiot is a classy and elegant footballer.

He is a brilliant ball-carrier and glides around the middle of the park.

He is a great passer and solid technician.

Rabiot is also very difficult to dispossess as he is particularly well balanced with good upper body strength.

One has to imagine he’d fit right into Liverpool’s midfield, alongside Naby Keita and James Milner, or Gini Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson or Fabinho – as he brings different attributes to those players.

It’s safe to say that this is a link that has got Reds supporters pretty excited, and so it should.

Rabiot is a great player and it would be astute business getting him in on a free.
