A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Nat Phillips’s performance in their Champions League quarter-final tie with Real Madrid on Tuesday.
Jurgen Klopp’s men need to overturn a two-goal deficit when they meet again at Anfield next week following the first-leg. The Reds were beaten 3-1 by Los Blancos.

In truth, it was a brutal night for the Premier League champions. They were poor for much of the game and were punished for a number of mistakes during the contest.
And it would be wrong to pretend that Phillips only received praise on social media. It does appear that many felt that it was a performance that exposed the 24-year-old’s weaknesses.

However, there was also some praise for the centre-back. Some felt that he was actually one of the visitors’ better players in the Spanish capital.
As shown by Whoscored, he made 62 accurate passes. Only Toni Kroos and Gini Wijnaldum managed more during the game.
Meanwhile, he also managed two tackles, two interceptions and four clearances. And one aspect of his game that most Liverpool fans refuse to question is his work-rate and desire.
