A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to laud Kalvin Phillips following Leeds United’s draw on Sunday, with several suggesting that he would be a fantastic signing for the Reds.
Leeds have become synonymous with exhilarating, fast pace football under Marcelo Bielsa. However, they were forced to show another side of their game in their latest fixture.
The Whites played out a goalless draw with Manchester United at Elland Road. Leeds had to dig in to limit the visitors to only a couple of clear-cut chances.

The defence was outstanding in the stalemate. But Phillips was arguably the star of the show as Leeds secured a point.
As shown by Whoscored, he won all eight of the challenges he attempted. No player on either side won more tackles than the England international.
Meanwhile, he also made two clearances and two interceptions. And no Leeds player made more key passes during the draw than the 25-year-old.
He was the player who threatened to drive the home side up the field on a day when they seemed to find the going difficult without Raphinha, who also missed Monday’s draw with Liverpool.

It was a performance that prompted former Anfield star Paul Ince to tell Sky Sports that no English midfielder has impressed him more this season than Phillips.
And it appears that a number of Reds fans agree with Ince, with many taking to social media shortly after the game to heap praise on the Leeds academy graduate.
It looks set to be an interesting summer at Anfield. The Reds have struggled as they look to defend the Premier League title that they won in such style last season.
It feels like the right time to make changes and perhaps move some of the previously key men on before Liverpool miss the boat to get back into the title mix with the large majority of the current crop.
One of the areas of the squad that may need strengthening is in midfield. Georginio Wijnaldum is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the campaign (via Transfermarkt).
And it appears that some Liverpool fans would ideally like Phillips signed when the window opens.
Of course, it looks highly unlikely that Leeds would show any interest in letting Phillips leave for any price.
Phillips is the fulcrum of Bielsa’s side. And Leeds have really struggled whenever they have been without him throughout the campaign.
It seems that the Whites are yet to reach their ceiling under Bielsa. So there looks to be no chance of any club being able to lure Phillips away from Elland Road.
But following his performance on Sunday, it is clear that several Liverpool fans view Phillips as the kind of player who would be a superb addition to Jurgen Klopp’s ranks if there was any chance of a deal being possible.
With that in mind, here is how some of the Reds fans reacted to Phillips’s superb display in Leeds’s draw with their bitter rivals at the weekend…
