Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Jurgen Klopp’s Joe Gomez update

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that Jurgen Klopp confirmed, in comments reported by the club’s official website, concerning Joe Gomez.

Gomez missed Saturday’s clash with Watford. The club confirmed on their official website that the centre-back was suffering with a fitness issue.

And of course, it proved to be a very unhappy trip to Vicarage Road. Liverpool lost their unbeaten record with Watford scoring three times in the second-half.

But Klopp has confirmed that Gomez, along with James Milner, is back available ahead of Tuesday’s FA Cup tie with Chelsea.

“No new ones [injuries], I think. Joe and Millie are back. The others aren’t,” he told the club’s official website.

Unsurprisingly, the news has gone down extremely well amongst the Liverpool fans on social media.

Dejan Lovren came in for a lot of criticism following the weekend’s defeat. It would be unfair to only blame Lovren as all of the defenders had a very poor day at the office. But he is surely the player who would not have played had Gomez been available.

But despite his return to full fitness, there appears to be some debate surrounding whether Gomez should play against Chelsea.

Some believe that the league and Champions League remain the priorities. And thus, they hope that the England international will be rested. However, others want to see him involved at Stamford Bridge.

The league title is still almost definitely on its way to Anfield despite this weekend’s result. And so, some supporters hope to see the FA Cup become a greater priority.
