Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Jota injury update
A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to comments from Portugal coach Fernando Santos – reported by Goal – regarding the fitness of Diogo Jota.
Jota was not involved in his country’s win over Qatar last week. And it appears that he facing a battle to be fit for their World Cup qualifier with Luxembourg on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old sat out the open training session, working instead on his own. And Santos has now suggested that it is looking unlikely that he will play their next game.
“He trained a while ago, increased the intensity today with (physio) Joao Brito, but he didn’t train with us,” he said, as reported by Goal.
“The probability [that Jota will play] will be little. I’ll talk to him and see how he feels.”
As noted by Goal, Jota sat out 21 games due to injury last season. So it would be a real blow for Jurgen Klopp’s men if was not able to feature against Watford this weekend.
It is a particularly bitter pill for Liverpool fans to swallow with the list of unavailable players for the clash with the Hornets growing.
Of course, Alisson and Fabinho are set to miss out after going away to link up with the Brazil national team.
Meanwhile, Klopp has a number of injuries to contend with.
And Jota adding his name to that list would be a blow. Understandably, it has left plenty of Liverpool supporters feeling even more frustrated about the international break.
‘Internationals seriously need binning’: Liverpool fans react to Jota injury scare
A friendly with Qatar and a qualifier against Luxembourg hardly makes this the most taxing break for Portugal. And thus, some fans feel that the right thing to do would be to send Jota back now if he is any sort of doubt.
With that in mind, here is how some of the Liverpool supporters have reacted to Santos’s comments…
Pretty injury prone since he’s here… always the same guys, Ox, Naby, Hendo, Jota… Alisson will have his problems aswell at some point (in the CL knockouts)… man it’s so frustrating

“Diogo Jota missed Portugal’s open training session this morning with a muscle injury”
So, just so we’re clear, we’ll be without all of these for the weekend?
Sound. It’s going great.
