Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Fabinho’s display

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Fabinho’s display in the Reds’ clash with Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side had to settle for a point against the league leaders. It was a game full of tension and had a lot of end to end flow, but neither goalkeeper was given a lot to do until Alisson was needed to make a string of saves late on.

Admittedly, the shortage of chances was largely down to a lack of composure in the final third. But there was also a lot of outstanding defensive work. And perhaps no player was more impressive than Fabinho.

The Brazilian was picked at centre-back alongside Jordan Henderson. And while the visitors looked dangerous on the counter attack, it rarely seemed like the makeshift defence were in trouble.

Fabinho continued to look a class act. His composure on the ball was typified by a moment of superb skill during the first-half when he calmly lifted the ball over himself and an opponent while facing his own goal to set Liverpool on their way again.

He read the game brilliantly. As shown by Whoscored, he made four interceptions. Thiago was the only Reds player to make more with the midfielder looking outstanding on his return to the starting lineup.

But many Liverpool fans on social media felt that Fabinho was a standout performer. It may not have been the ideal result for Liverpool. But there were positive signs as the title race starts to get underway.

And Fabinho continuing to prove that he could get into almost any team in the world as a centre-back is certainly one positive for Klopp to take.

Here is how some of the supporters reacted to his display in the stalemate…
