Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Divock Origi injury scare

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Divock Origi after the striker appeared to come off with an injury as Belgium rounded off their World Cup qualifying campaign in Wales.

Roberto Martinez’s men were already assured of a place in Qatar heading into their final game in Cardiff.

There were a number of changes made. And Origi was one of those to come into the team after coming on in the latter stages of the draw with Estonia last week.

Ultimately, Wales secured the result that they needed to wrap up second spot. Kevin De Bruyne scored a stunning opener, before Kieffer Moore equalised shortly after the half-hour mark.

Origi was unable to get on the scoresheet. And the evening appeared to end in disappointing manner for the 26-year-old.

The ball was put out of play just before the hour mark with Origi crouching down with a problem. Moments later, he had been replaced by Dante Vanzeir.

He appeared to walk rather gingerly around the pitch. And that has certainly caught the attention of some of the Reds fans on social media.

Liverpool have endured some torrid luck with injuries of late.

As noted by the Liverpool Echo, the likes of Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane have returned from international duty prematurely. Fortunately, the pair have since taken part in training.

But the likes of Naby Keita, Joe Gomez and Curtis Jones seemingly remain sidelined. And Andy Robertson came off during the latter stages of Scotland’s win over Denmark.

Obviously, Origi is not a regular starter for Liverpool by any means. But he did score in their loss to West Ham just before the break. So not having him available would still be a blow.
