Liverpool fans react on Twitter as West Ham eye Nat Phillips

Nat Phillips provided a timely reminder of what he can do as Liverpool beat AC Milan on Tuesday, with reports this week claiming that West Ham want the defender in the January transfer window.

Phillips finds himself in a bizarre situation at Anfield. He ended last season in outstanding form. However, the returns of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, the inspired form of Joel Matip, and the signing of Ibrahima Konaté have all resulted in the 24-year-old only making three appearances this term. He is yet to play at all in the Premier League.

David Moyes has lost both Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma to injury. And with Burnley wanting £20 million for James Tarkowski – who is out of contract in the summer – it appears that they have widened their search.
