A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mirror suggesting that Everton want to offer Emre Can a return to the Premier League.
Can has perhaps not had the best time since leaving Anfield. He did help Juventus to the Serie A title during his first season in Italy. But this campaign has been a different story.
The 26-year-old has made just two league starts for the Old Lady. Meanwhile, he has only made a handful of appearances from the bench.
Liverpool, of course, won the Champions League last season. And they look to be well on their way to winning the Premier League this term.
Can would be forgiven for wanting a return to Merseyside. And it appears that that could be on the cards – sort of.
The Daily Mirror reported at the weekend that Everton want Can and are preparing a £30 million bid for the Germany international.
The Mirror notes that Can has previously insisted that he would not join Manchester United due to his spell at Liverpool. So it would be interesting to see how he would respond if the Toffees come calling.
Some Reds fans on social media believe that there is little chance of Can joining Everton for that reason.
Meanwhile, others have insisted that they do not care about the midfielder moving to Goodison Park. Jurgen Klopp’s men are flying right now, and those supporters are not expecting Can to come back and haunt them with the Toffees.
Here is how some of the Liverpool fans have reacted to the reports…
If he’s turned down United there’s no way he’d go there

I couldn’t care less if he did no good anyway

Na He won’t.
He rejected United. Not sure he goes to Everton after that. That would be funny more than sad ?
