The 41-year-old has joined Blackpool in League One as the club’s new manager.

Liverpool have today confirmed on their official website that under-23 head coach Neil Critchley has left to take control of Blackpool.

The 41-year-old has spent six-and-a-half years at Anfield producing some quality youngsters within the academy setup.

He oversaw a 5-0 defeat over Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup and knocked Shrewsbury Town out of the FA Cup.

Critchley is the latest academy coach to head from Liverpool to take on a senior role with another club.

Steven Gerrard, Michael Beale and Mike Marsh have all progressed into first-team roles in the past.

Blackpool are 13th in League One and beat Ipswich Town 2-1 at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.
