Liverpool beat Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday night – hours after the U19s did the same thing.
In the UEFA Youth League, Liverpool’s U19s needed a draw to progress to the next round. But RB Salzburg went 2-0 up and this threatened to be a disappointing afternoon in Austria.
However, the Liverpool teenagers fought back to win the game 3-2. It was a dramatic turnaround with all three goals coming in the last 23 minutes.
Bearne completes comeback
Harvey Elliott, who has already played for the first-team, brought Liverpool back into the game. He scored a penalty in the 67th minute to reduce the deficit.
Then, with 11 minutes remaining, Thomas Hill received the ball from Leighton Clarkson and levelled via the crossbar. A point was good enough to progress but substitute Jack Bearne made sure in stoppage time.

Bearne, 18, tapped in from close-range in the third minute of stoppage time after Layton Stewart squared the pass. It capped a dramatic match for the U19s, who are through to the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League.
Liverpool fans were proud and impressed of their youngsters, who were missing key players like Rhian Brewster and Curtis Jones. Here are some tweets about the win.
