Liverpool are reportedly planning to watch Brighton defender Ben White in the new season to see how he develops – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter believe he would be a great signing at Anfield.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds watched the centre-back last season during his loan spell with Championship winners Leeds United and are now going to see how he performs in the Premier League following his return to partner club Brighton.

It is claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s side will be in a much more financial position next summer and the 22-year-old is going to be a target for them then depending on his individual season.

Despite Leeds submitting a £25million bid for White in this window to try sign on a permanent basis (Sky Sports), he’s remained at Brighton and even signed a new four-year deal.

He’s yet to play a single minute in the Premier League, but has a growing reputation after starring for Leeds last season in their promotion-winning year and he played every single minute of their 46-game season.

The Englishman is a young centre-back that reads the game so well and is a modern defender with the way he’s so comfortable on the ball, which is why he can slot into a defensive midfield role too if needed.
