Liverpool fans react as Stan Collymore suggests Reds target Kevin De Bruyne
A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to a piece from the Mirror, written by Stan Collymore, suggesting that a move for Kevin De Bruyne would lead to a match made in heaven.
It looks set to be reasonably quiet summer for the Reds. Jurgen Klopp has previously suggested, in comments also reported by the Mirror, that the Premier League champions are not planning to spend big.

Nevertheless, Collymore has implored his former club to make a move for the Manchester City star.
And, interestingly, the retired striker has claimed that De Bruyne needs to move to a club like Liverpool if he hopes to cement himself as one of the game’s greats.

“De Bruyne hasn’t yet played for a massive club because Chelsea and Manchester City come with B-grade expectations,” he told the Mirror.
“The only way he can really stamp his greatness on the game is by joining a club at which he’d have A* expectations and, at the height of his powers, there isn’t a better time for him to do that. De Bruyne would be the perfect fit for Liverpool.
“He could go in and run a midfield which already has all the attributes to get the best out of him.”
Unsurprisingly, there are plenty of Liverpool fans who would love to see De Bruyne move to Anfield.
The Belgian provided 20 assists in the Premier League last season alone. He has been an incredible addition to the Cityzens’ side.
And if there was any chance of a potential deal, it would be no surprise to see every side in the world make a move.
However, it is clear that few Reds supporters are going to park themselves outside Anfield in the hope of seeing De Bruyne unveiled as their latest signing off the back of Collymore’s comments.
Collymore does note that it would be one of the most unlikely transfers. But several fans appear to have been left confused as to why the pundit has even made the suggestion given how unlikely it is.
Here is how some of the fans have reacted to his comments…
Now this would be a statement if it were to come true..
