Liverpool fans have been reacting to fresh reports defender Dejan Lovren is to have his contract extended.
According to BBC Sport, the Reds will extend the 31-year-old’s stay at Anfield if he does not leave for another club in the next transfer window.
Last night it was reported that Russian side Zenit St Petersburg were interested in the Croatia international, who currently has a year remaining, but contact has not been made.

Lovren is coming to the end his sixth season at Liverpool after signing from Southampton for a reported £20 million in 2014 (BBC Sport).
It’s been a turbulent stint at the club for the ex-Lyon man, who has played more of a back-up role in recent years, with Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez now the preferred centre-halves.
He’s made just 10 appearances in the Premier League this season, and his future has been speculated over frequently in 2020.
It could be that Liverpool will extend £100,000-a-week star Lovren’s (Spotrac) contract in the interest of gaining a higher fee for the player.

If that is the case, it is still likely the club won’t be able to recoup all of the initial £20 million investment.
That said, sporting director Michael Edwards has proven very capable of negotiating large transfer fees for fringe players in recent years, with Dominic Solanke, Jordon Ibe and Danny Ings all leaving for around the £20 million mark.
While some Reds fans were a little worried to hear such news, some see the development as a potentially smart decision by the club.
