Liverpool fans react as PSG star Idrissa Gueye comments on future of Sadio Mane

Paris Saint-Germain star Idrissa Gueye has commented on the future of Liverpool star Sadio Mane amid reports that he could leave Anfield this summer – and Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter.

Mane has been in stunning form for Liverpool once again this season, having a hand in 30 goals during his 38 league and cup appearances. The Senegalese ace has netted 18 times, and created 12 more during the 2019-20 campaign.

His form has dramatically improved and many supporters see him above Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino as Liverpool’s most important member of the front three. Real Madrid have been linked, as have PSG.

Back in December, France Football claimed – as relayed by Get French Football News – that Thomas Tuchel’s side see Mane as the ‘perfect replacement’ for Neymar should the Brazilian leave. Gueye responded when asked if PSG could sign Mane.

“For Sadio Mane, we talk about it every year, we will have to see and whether he wants to come to France and PSG,” Gueye told French outlet Canal+, as quoted by Inside Futbol. “But I didn’t discuss it with him and I don’t know how it will happen.”

Gueye, who played for Liverpool’s bitter rivals Everton before his move to PSG, is Mane’s Senegal teammate and knows him better than most. Mane, who earns £100,000 a week as per Spotrac, has three years left on his current deal.

Liverpool fans took to Twitter after hearing Gueye’s comments on Mane’s future amid interest from PSG and Real Madrid, and many are desperate to keep him at Anfield – if not, a little concerned.
