Jurgen Klopp is reportedly set to hand forgotten Liverpool man Pedro Chirivella a second chance by including him in a youthful side to take on MK Dons on Wednesday night – and Liverpool fans cannot believe their eyes.
Chirivella was seen as Liverpool’s next best talent when the young Spaniard broke into the Reds’ senior side during 2015-16 as an 18-year-old, but it has all gone pear shaped since then. He has failed to play for Liverpool since February 2016.
Now 22, the former Spain youth international has gone on loan three times. Firstly, he moved to Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles, and impressed – scoring two goals and creating two more in 17 games during the second half of 2016-17.
He went out on loan again, back to the Netherlands with Willem II – a move which was seen as a step up. He played 35 times during the 2017-18, and again, did well. But he failed to return to the senior Liverpool side.
Instead, he was sent on loan to second-tier Spanish side Extremadura in January of this year, but he failed to make a single appearance – a problem with his registration seeing the Spanish Football Federation barring him from playing.
Now in the final 12 months of his contract at Liverpool, Goal claim Chirivella has been included in a youthful side that also boasts Rhian Brewster, Harvey Elliott and Sepp van der Berg to take on MK Dons in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Liverpool fans reacted to the news that they could see Chirivella for the first time since February 2016, and many are stunned that he is still on the books at Anfield.

Don't know why Pedro Chirivella is still at the club, will not make it here. Was obv from the beginning, esp given how physically frail he is and nothing has changed there.
