Liverpool have confirmed the deadline day departure of Ovie Ejaria. The club’s official website confirmed Ejaria’s move to Reading on a season-long loan deal with the transfer becoming permanent next summer.
Ejaria spent last season on loan at Rangers and Reading. And now he is returning to the Madejski Stadium, where he impressed. He is dropping down to the Championship to kickstart his career with the Royals.
The 21-year-old played 16 times for Reading last season, scoring once and providing two assists. Prior to that, he played 28 games for Rangers and also had a stint at Sunderland, where he made 11 appearances. But he leaves Anfield with just eight senior appearances for the Reds under his belt.

Liverpool fans took to Twitter to discuss Ejaria’s exit. Plenty of players left Liverpool this summer – permanently and on loan – with few coming in. This has frustrated a few fans who feel the squad should have been strengthened to ensure another title push.
Here are some of the best tweets from Liverpool supporters after Ejaria’s exit was confirmed close to the deadline.
