Nathaniel Clyne has penned a short-term contract with Crystal Palace after leaving Liverpool at the end of last season and supporters of the Premier League champions have been reacting on Twitter.
The right-back has suffered rotten luck with injuries in recent years and signing for the Eagles should hand him a chance to get his career back on track.
Clyne, 29, should be in his prime right now but instead, he is facing a fight to get back to the level of potential he previously showed.
The former England defender hasn’t played a competitive game since the final day of the 2018/19 campaign when he starred for Bournemouth against Palace.

He picked up an injury in pre-season ahead of the 2019/20 campaign and hasn’t returned since.
With that in mind, it makes sense for Roy Hodgson to only hand him a short-term deal. If he impresses, however, he could well earn an extension.
Clyne played 103 times for Liverpool having arrived from Southampton and it appears there are no ill feelings towards the defender.
Following news of the 14-time England international signing for Palace, they’ve been reacting over on Twitter.
