Liverpool fans react as Napoli reportedly look to sign Reds star on loan
Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that Liverpool defender Konstantinos Tsimikas has emerged as a loan target for Napoli. The left-back has failed to clock up regular game time at Anfield since his move to Merseyside. Now, he could join Napoli – and Liverpool fans have reacted.
Tsimikas, 25, managed just 225 minutes of football all season for Liverpool following his £11.75million move from Olympiacos. Only five of those came in the Premier League. Andy Robertson’s ability to remain fresh and keep fit has kept the Greece international sidelined – playing just seven times.
What have Liverpool fans said about interest in Tsimikas?
Reports from the Italian newspaper claim that Napoli need a left-back. Maurizio Sarri want to sign a left-footed defender, and Tsimikas is one of three options. Lille’s Brazilian left-back Reinaldo Mandava and Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri are also options, but Tsimikas could be signed on loan.
Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that Tsimikas is an option for Napoli this summer. Some believe a loan move to a club that will be in European football next season would massively benefit Tsimikas.
Meanwhile, others think the £60,000-a-week (Spotrac) man needs to stay and will get game time at Anfield over the next 12 months.
