Naby Keita will be assessed ahead of the UEFA Super Cup after limping out of Liverpool training on Tuesday.
The Reds are Istanbul ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Europa League winners Chelsea.
Liverpool were hosting an open training session at Vodafone Park when Keita pulled up in some discomfort.
The Guinea international left the session early and headed for the tunnel along with a club physio, as reported by The Mirror.
Having lost Alisson to a calf injury, Liverpool will be desperate for positive news about Keita. The Brazilian is set for a spell on the sidelines, meaning new signing Adrian will deputise for the foreseeable.
Keita will be hoping his issue is nothing serious, after he struggled towards the back end of 2018/19.
The former RB Leipzig dynamo suffered an adductor injury against Barcelona, causing him to miss out on the Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspur.
He then aggravated the issue whilst on duty with Guinea at the Africa Cup of Nations. He also picked up a few niggles earlier in the season.
Liverpool fans react
A lot of fans expressed their frustrations on social media over the development, with many concerned about the apparent fragility of their £52.75 million signing (Echo):
