Liverpool saw their hopes of a record points total in the Premier League evaporate after a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Sadio Mane did set Liverpool on their way but goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Reiss Nelson saw the Gunners home before the break.

It was two rare mistakes that gifted Mikel Arteta’s team victory, with Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker enduring rare moments of madness.

Liverpool fans will be delighted to see their team finally lift the Premier League crown at the weekend and will now hope to focus on next season.

In truth, the Reds haven’t been great since the restart and this was another lackadaisical performance from Liverpool.

Former Arsenal man Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain got the nod to start ahead of him; with many fans fearing Keita isn’t overly fancied.

The 25-year-old was brilliant at Brighton a couple of weeks ago but hasn’t been called upon to start a game since.
