Marko Grujic scored a second goal for Hertha Berlin in his second spell on loan at the German Bundesliga club but could not revent his side suffering a 2-1 defeat to Mainz – and Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter.

Grujic, 23, was sent on loan to Hertha Berlin for the 2018-19 campaign where he managed just 23 appearances in all competition – scoring five goals. But this time around, he has got off to a much better start.

Indeed, the eight-time Serbia international rejoined Hertha in the summer for another season-long loan, as he continues to struggle breaking into Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side. Gini Wijnaldum, Naby Keita and more sit ahead of him.

Grujic leapt highest to score his second goal of the season for Hertha Berlin, in just five appearances after good work from Javairô Dilrosun who broke into the box and stood the ball up – allowing Grujic to power home a header.

The former Red Star Belgrade midfielder has a contract at Anfield until the summer of 2023, and could have a future at Anfield if he continues his excellent form for the Bundesliga outfit. He has clocked up 14 senior appearances for the Reds.

Liverpool fans reacted to the news that Grujic was on target once again for Hertha, which is his seventh goal in total for the top-tier side. Many believe he has a future at Anfield, with one claiming he is a replacement for Jordan Henderson and James Milner.
