Marko Grujic has told the Liverpool Echo that he is desperate to return to Liverpool and make a name for himself at Anfield as he continues to shine on loan in Germany – and Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter.
Grujic, 23, is currently on loan in the Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin for a second successive season. He has netted two goals, one coming against the German champions Bayern Munich in a 2-2 draw.
The Serbia international has a contract at Liverpool until the summer of 2023, indicating perhaps that Jurgen Klopp is keen to keep the former Red Star Belgrade man on Merseyside. But Liverpool have a long list of midfield talent.
Grujic spoke of how he misses playing for Liverpool and adding to his 14 senior appearances, making it abundantly clear that his time in Germany is purely for the purpose of developing him into a player good enough for Liverpool.

“I want to improve my physical performance and take my concentration to another level. I want to be ready for Liverpool so I will have a chance to get into the team,” Grujic said, who joined Liverpool in January 2016 for £5.1million (Guardian).
Liverpool boast a whole plethora of midfield talent. Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, James Milner, Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana are all blocking Grujic’s path into the starting XI.
Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter to Grujic’s comments about his own future, and many believe the attacking midfielder also has a future at Liverpool – but he may have to remain patient to get his chance.
