Liverpool fans have been reacting to a report that has claimed Manuel Akanji is an alternative target for the club.
The Daily Mail have claimed the Reds could potentially swoop for the Switzerland international if there is no chance of landing the likes of Dayot Upamecano or Ibrahima Konate.

Liverpool are likely to do business of some kind next month, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez out of action for the foreseeable future.
There is also the worrying fitness record of Joel Matip to factor in.
Akanji has been with Dortmund since January 2018 after transferring from FC Basel for around £16 million (via Sky Sports), and has made 98 appearances to date.
The 25-year-old is seen as a good all-round central defender, who has particularly good physical attributes – his pace and strength standing out.

He’s also very tidy with the ball at his feet, with WhoScored calculating his pass completion in the Bundesliga at a very impressive 91.5%.
Akanji’s reputation is certainly growing, but it will be another few years before he reaches his peak.
On social media, the reaction to the links to Akanji from some Liverpool fans was somewhat mixed:
