Liverpool fans react as Manchester City cruise past Manchester United to maintain title push

Liverpool needed a favour from their arch rivals Manchester United last night as they looked to steal a march in a hotly-contested title race.

After losing 4-0 at Everton on Sunday, United put in far more effort in last night’s Manchester derby, but it wasn’t enough as they went down 2-0 to their local rivals.

That means that with three games left of the season, City are one point ahead of the Reds and all those Liverpool fans who backed their old rivals for one night only were left disappointed and behind in the sprint for the title.

But that did mean that Liverpool fans were free to laugh at how far off the required standard United are. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side did do their utmost to lay a glove on City, but they didn’t even come close.

So after their bid to get behind United for the night, Liverpool fans took to Twitter to give their opinion on a flailing Red Devils side, who will be lucky to get into the top four at this rate.
