Lyon are reportedly ready to sell midfield talent Houssem Aouar this summer in order to bring in some much-needed funds amid the current suspension of football – and Liverpool supporters have reacted on Twitter.
Aouar, 21, has starred for Lyon this season once again – having a hand in 16 goals from midfield, scoring nine himself while also laying on seven assists. Little surprise, then, that some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs are being linked.
French newspaper L’Equipe claim Lyon will actively look to sell Aouar this summer, who already has an enormous 133 appearances to his name with the French side. It is believed the Ligue 1 club will look for a fee in the region of £43million.

However, the report states Liverpool are not the only English side interested in Aouar. Manchester City are also touted as a possibile suitor the uncapped France international – who may still be forced to play for Lyon in the Champions League.
French football has come to a halt with President Emmanuel Macron postponining football until September, but UEFA intend to play the rest of the Champions League in August. It remains to be seen how Aouar will compete, especially if he leaves.
Lyon will be keen to cash in. No gate receipts or television money will be received until September. Liverpool fans have responded to the news that Aouar will be sold and many have urged their club to complete a deal for the French ace.
