Liverpool fans react as Klopp receives good news over 26-year-old
Liverpool have been bolstered ahead of their Champions League game against Porto by the news that Naby Keita is back in full training.
The midfielder missed Saturday’s game at Brentford. Keita started the first two games of the campaign but hasn’t started since.
Against Crystal Palace, he stepped off the bench to score a superb goal during a 3-0 victory.
With Harvey Elliott injured, losing Keita represented a blow to Jurgen Klopp at the weekend.
Despite picking up a number of injuries during his time at Liverpool, this one doesn’t look like being a serious one.
Keita could return against Porto, with the Reds looking to secure a second successive win.
The 26-year-old has been a bit of an enigma since arriving at Anfield in 2018 from RB Leipzig.
Although he has made 82 appearances, it’s fair to say that injuries have hampered his progress somewhat.
Keita arrived as a stellar signing and as a player who was tipped to potentially take the Premier League by storm.
He has struggled for consistency though and Liverpool fans are yet to really see the best of him.
This season could be a big one for the player who earns £120,000-a-week at Anfield and he’ll hope to enjoy a run of games.
What have Liverpool fans said about Keita returning?
It’s fair to say that some are sceptical. A run of games without breaking down would go a long way to silencing some of his critics.
Keita will likely be called upon if he can stay fit, with Klopp a big fan of the midfielder.
Staying fit has been tricky though and the player himself will be keen to get a run of games under his belt.
Supporters do seem happy that he will be with the travelling party which heads to Portugal and here is what the fan base has been saying on Twitter.
