Liverpool fans react as Klopp provides injury update on Lovren

Some Liverpool fans have reacted to Dejan Lovren being ruled out of this weekend’s clash with Watford.

The Croatia international sustained a muscle injury against RB Salzburg in midweek, and has been unable to shake off the problem.

He won’t be available for selection against the Premier League’s bottom club on Saturday, meaning Jurgen Klopp only as two fit central defenders in Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk.

Speaking in a press conference, Klopp said (liverpoolfc.com): “He is out, muscle this time – more serious than last time.

“We don’t have a timeframe. It’s a concern, how you can imagine.”

Lovren had been enjoying a good run in the side, deputising for the injured Joel Matip.

The 2018 World Cup finalist has shown some good form in the past few weeks, and his injury will serve as a massive frustration.

His absence will now hand a huge chance for Gomez to re-establish himself as van Dijk’s regular partner.
