Liverpool have confirmed on their official website that Fabinho will miss the trip to Leicester City with a minor muscle problem – and supporters have been reacting on Twitter.
The Brazilian won’t make the trip to the King Power Stadium as the Reds aim to put last week’s 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City behind them.
Liverpool are ten points behind the Citizens in the race for the title and have played a game more than Pep Guardiola’s men.
The challenge for the reigning champions right now is to regain some confidence and ensure they don’t drop out of the top-four.
Fabinho has been a decent player in the Liverpool ranks this season, following in at centre-back amid a plethora of injury problems.
His absence this week will open the door for either Ozan Kabak or Ben Davies to make their debuts, after arriving on transfer deadline day last month.
The £100,000-a-week player missing out through injury has thoroughly upset the supporters who have taken to Twitter to vent their frustrations.
Fabinho has proved a decent signing for Liverpool since checking in from Monaco and the fan base hope to have him back soon.
Here is what Liverpool supporters are saying about the latest in a long line of injuries.
Oh dear.. just in time for the new signings to fill in the CB positions
