Liverpool midfielder Jake Cain has signed his first professional contract with the club. Cain has put pen to paper on a professional deal, the Liverpool official website has announced.
Cain’s good performances in the academy teams have prompted Liverpool to hand him a contract. The central midfielder has been thriving in the U18s this season and is tipped for a bright future.
The 18-year-old scored his third goal of the season in the recent 5-2 loss against Manchester City U18s. He also has four assists to his name in just five games for the U18 team this term.
Liverpool use Cain in the U18 side and the UEFA Youth League squad. He was also a part of the U18 team that won the FA Youth Cup last season. His next challenge will be to break into the U23 team and then he will be aiming for first-team opportunities after that.
Reds fans took to Twitter to discuss Cain’s new contract which keeps him at the club for the immediate future. Supporters have high hopes for Cain’s future at Anfield. Here are some of the best tweets discussing his professional contract.
