Harry Wilson is back in pre-season training with Liverpool having spent the 2018/19 season out on loan with Derby County in the Championship.
The Welsh international was unable to guide his temporary employers to promotion, but was one of the main driving forces behind their push to return to the top flight under Frank Lampard.
But the step up to being part of the first team plans at Anfield is a big one. Even allowing for Liverpool’s relative lack of attacking depth, Wilson will need to improve quickly to make the grade this season.
With Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all involved in continental competition this summer, Wilson should get plenty of opportunities in the frontline during pre-season – and it’s up to him to take his chance.

Yesterday, the Liverpool official Twitter account tweeted out a video of Wilson in pre-season training, slotting home after a smart team move.
The finish itself was relatively simple but it served to remind many Reds supporters online about the nature of the talent they have on their hands – and lots of them are very excited indeed.
The consensus on Twitter was that Wilson should be kept around Anfield this season in order to further his development as opposed to spending big money on a foreign talent.
