Liverpool fans react as club reportedly open talks to sign Leverkusen playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu
Liverpool and Michael Edwards have reportedly opened talks to sign AC Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu this summer. The Turkish ace is out of contract in June and the Reds are likely to be after an attacking midfielder. Calhanoglu seemingly fits the bill – with Reds fans keen to see his arrival, with Gini Wijnaldum set to depart.
Calhanoglu, 27, has been in sensational form for Milan. With Stefano Pioli taking Milan back into the top four, the Champions League – finishing in second place, Calhanoglu has thrived. The set-piece specialist has had a hand in 21 goals during his 43 league and cup games.
Italian website CalcioMercato have claimed that Juventus are interested in signing the 55-time Turkey international – who was born in Germany. However, Liverpool are also interested and it is claimed that the Reds have opened talks with the playmaker’s representatives. His exit is inevitable.
