Liverpool fans react as club reportedly battling Arsenal and Solskjaer for 23-year-old star

Liverpool are reportedly battling Manchester United, Arsenal and other European clubs in the race to sign Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella as the Italian continues to shine under Antonio Conte – and Reds fans have responded.

Barella, 23, has emerged as one of Italy’s best midfielders in recent season – shining for Inter over the past season and a bit. Joining on loan from Cagliari in the summer of 2019, he has since signed permanently with Conte’s men.

A regular for Roberto Mancini’s Italy, Barella has also impressed with Inter – scoring four goals and creating 12 more in those matches. But his stunning form has seen clubs add him to their shortlists ahead of January and next summer.

Italian site FCInterNews claim that all three Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on Barella, as are Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. It is claimed that Inter are keen to keep him, and are ready to bump his wages up to a huge £70,000 a week.

Gini Wijnaldum’s future is in doubt, James Milner is now well in the latter stages of his career and Thiago will join Jordan Henderson in entering his thirties next April. A new midfielder could be targeted by Jurgen Klopp.

Barella might be just the man and Liverpool supporters have taken to Twitter to discuss the Inter Milan star’s potential arrival at Anfield, and many have urged their club to get a deal over the line for the 16-time Italy ace.
