Liverpool fans react as club reportedly after Bayern Munich star Thiago

Thiago Alcantara is set to enter the final 12 months of his Bayern Munich contract and Liverpool have emerged as a club reportedly interested in nabbing the Spaniard’s signature this summer – which has delighted Reds fans.

Thiago, 29, has spent the past seven seasons at Bayern Munich – winning the same amount in Bundesliga titles. The 37-time Spain international looks as though he could be on his way this summer.

German newspaper SportBild claim Bayern held talks to extend Thiago’s contract in May – after 230 appearances with the club during is seven-year stay. But those talks broke down, with Thiago refusing to sign.

The same report states Thiago has two options if he is to leave Bayern this summer. Return to Barcelona, where he came through the academy and clocked up 100 senior appearances – or move to Anfield.

The report claims Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the Italian-born Champions League winner, who is the son of 1994 World Cup winner Mazinho – and brother of Barcelona star Rafinha. He is rated at £45million (Spox).

Liverpool supporters have reacted to the reported news that Thiago could be on his way to Anfield this summer, and fans are even open to the exit of Gini Wijnaldum in order to secure a move – with the Dutch ace also set to see his contract enter its final year.
