Liverpool fans have been reacting to reports the club have reached an agreement to sign Diego Carlos next summer.
According to El Desmarque, Reds officials are to trigger the Brazilian defender’s £64 million release clause, with personal terms apparently being negotiated
Carlos has been in inspired form for Europa League side Sevilla this season after joining the club in the summer from Nantes.

The South American has had a huge impact on Sevilla defensively, helping the team into third place in La Liga.
Having started every league game, Carlos has been key in the club conceding just 17 goals so far – making them the joint-fourth best team in the division defensively.
Liverpool are no strangers to splashing big on defenders, having signed Virgil van Dijk in the January window two years ago.
The Dutch colossus has been nothing short of a sensation for the Reds, making his £75 million fee (BBC Sport) look a snip.

At present Liverpool only have four centre-halves, and it has been rare over the past couple of years that they have all been fit at the same time.
There has been some talk about Dejan Lovren’s future – a successful move for Carlos would certainly increase speculation around the Croatian.
Liverpool fans react
Several Liverpool fans on social media were quite dubious about the links, with many struggling to believe the club would fork out as much as £64 million:
