Liverpool fans react as Champions League giants eye £192k-a-week Reds man
Barcelona have reportedly added Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp to their shortlist of replacements for Ronald Koeman – and Reds fans have reacted.
Ex-Everton manager Koeman is in the final days of his Barcelona tenure, having won just once in his last five league and cup outings as Barca boss.
Of course, Barcelona are in the midst of a transition phase – having lost Lionel Messi. The La Liga outfit are struggling to generate any consistency.
El Nacional say that Klopp has emerged as Joan Laporta’s priority to replace Koeman at Barcelona. But the Nou Camp is not such a draw, anymore.
Indeed, Barca lack any kind of funds – meaning new signings are unlikely. They lack Messi, but the fans remain just as expectant.
That is, despite the side ultimately falling behind current La Liga winners Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid by some way. The gap will increase.
What are Liverpool fans saying about Barcelona eyeing Klopp?
The chances of Klopp leaving Liverpool right now is almost zero. He has a contract, worth £192,000 a week (Goal), until June 2024 at Anfield.
Even if Barcelona still had Messi and plenty of money to spend, Klopp would be far from being tempted. La Liga doesn’t really suit Klopp’s style.
Regardless, Klopp’s stance on a move to Barcelona remains to be seen. He might feel it looks good on his CV, and that he can transform Barca.
Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter to the reports that Klopp is wanted by Barcelona. Many have laughed off the interest from Barca.
