Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker enjoyed a remarkable first season at Anfield by helping the Reds to the Champions League title back in June.
Last night the Champions League awards took place in Monaco and Alisson capped a sensational year by claiming the UEFA Goalkeeper of the Season.
In 51 games in all competitions last season he kept 27 clean sheets and conceded just 34 goals. Virgil van Dijk claimed the UEFA Player of the Year award at the same event.

Alisson arrived from Roma in the summer of 2018 for £67 million from Roma, according to Sky Sports. Signing a goalkeeper for such an astronomical amount was met with some criticism away from Anfield, but the Reds have had the last laugh.
The Brazilian was injured in the first game of the season against Norwich with Adrian keeping his jersey warm during his rehabilitation.
He will certainly win his place back when he returns to full fitness and this award puts the seal on a tremendous first campaign in English football.

Following the announcement of his accolade, Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to congratulate the £90,000-a-week (Spotrac) goalkeeper on his fantastic campaign.
Here is a selection of Tweets from the club’s loyal fanbase in response to Alisson collecting his gong in Moncao last night:
