Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is back in the England squad after a lengthy lay-off. The Liverpool midfielder has been named in Gareth Southgate’s 25-man squad to take on Bulgaria and Kosovo at Wembley next month.

Oxlade-Chamberlain missed all but two games last season after suffering an injury in summer 2018. The versatile midfielder returned at the end of the season and has been working hard to get back to full fitness ever since.

He featured in pre-season for the Reds and even started in the Super Cup against Chelsea. Oxlade-Chamberlain has played four games this season as he continues his recovery.

The 26-year-old, who used to play for Southampton and Arsenal, can offer Southgate cover in a number of areas. During his career, he has played in attacking midfield, defensive midfield and even at wing-back.

He is one of four Liverpool players in this Three Lions squad. Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold will join Oxlade-Chamberlain for the international break. And Oxlade-Chamberlain will be hoping to add to his 32 caps. Here are some fans reacting to this news.
