It’s taken some time but Kostas Tsimikas is finally making a big impression on the Liverpool fan base.
Last night, the left-back was in action for Greece as they drew 1-1 with Kosovo in their final World Cup qualifier.
Tsimikas won’t be in Qatar in 2022. Greece bowed out after finishing third in their group behind Spain and Sweden.
For the Liverpool man, however, this has proved a pretty fruitful international call-up.

Last night he was named as the Man of the Match for an eye-catching performance.
He finished the game with an 83% pass success ratio, recovered the ball five times and also made seven key passes – from left-back!
Tsimikas checked in at Liverpool prior to the 2020/21 campaign for £11.75 million from Olympiacos.
He was originally down to act as an understudy to Andy Robertson, although fell out of the picture completely last season.
He managed just seven games in all competitions during his maiden season in England.
That led to some question whether Jurgen Klopp wasn’t entirely convinced by the man he’d signed.
This season he has made eight appearances already and his latest international showing offered a timely reminder of his quality.
What have Liverpool fans said about Tsimikas?
It’s pretty reasonable to say that supporters are happy to see him bang in form on the international stage.
With Robertson ahead of him at Liverpool, it’s difficult to see him playing a large amount of football during 2021/22.

That hasn’t stopped some supporters from praising him though and plenty hope that he will earn a chance soon.
The £65,000-a-week international is certainly knocking on the door with his latest showing and supporters have been reacting on Twitter.
Here is what they had to say as Tsimikas steals the show during a draw from Greece.
