Liverpool came away from Elland Road on Monday night somewhat lucky to have secured a point against Leeds United as Marcelo Bielsa’s side impressed during the second half – and Reds fans have praised goalkeeper Alisson.
Leeds came into the match having won their last three Premier League games against Fulham, Sheffield United and Manchester City – and stretched their unbeaten run in England’s top tier to five when Diego Llorente headed in.
Liverpool had taken the lead in the first half against Leeds, when Sadio Mane scored – ending his drought in the Premier League. But Leeds dominated the second half, and Alisson was called upon time and time again.

Alisson made a brilliant save to deny Patrick Bamford one on one, stopped Jack Harrison at close range with his feet and made numerous other saves to keep Leeds at bay. Only for Llorente to head home from a Harrison corner.
Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to Alisson’s display on Monday night for the reigning Premier League champions. Many were amazed by his efforts, and although it was a poor result, Alisson deserves praise.
One fan posted that the £150,000-a-week (Spotrac) star’s performance should not go “unnoticed”. Liverpool remain in sixth place, two points behind fourth-placed West Ham. They would have climbed to fourth, had they won.
