'Immense', 'Outstanding': Some Liverpool fans blown away by £125,000-a-week star

Liverpool produced a wonderful display to defeat Milan and finish the Champions League group stages with a perfect record.

The Reds won 2-1 courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi; with Fikayo Tomori opening the scoring for Milan.

Boss Jurgen Klopp rotated his pack for the trip to the San Siro. Young Tyler Morton started but it was Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who came in for some praise.

After a frustrating 2020/21 campaign, the 28-year-old is working his way back to his best.

Given that Liverpool have some injuries in the middle of the park, there could be more football coming in the direction of Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The talented player was signed as a forward back in 2017 but has worked his way backwards on the pitch as the years have progressed.

Now, he operates in central midfield in Klopp’s team and it’s a position he’s thriving in.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has scored 14 goals and claimed 13 assists in 122 appearances for the Reds; helping them win the Champions League and Premier League.

Last night, he was the man holding everything together in midfield with Morton and Takumi Minamino alongside him.

What have Liverpool fans said about Oxlade-Chamberlain?

Some fans have been frustrated with him previously but his luck with injuries has been rotten at times.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was instrumental last night though and was perhaps unlucky not to score in the San Siro.
