‘That’s how he should be used now’: Liverpool fans propose new role for £20m man after Inter clash

A number of Liverpool fans have urged Jurgen Klopp to use Jordan Henderson as a back-up No. 6 from now on.

The Reds skipper has struggled at times this season, and looked particularly lacklustre against Burnley last week.

Klopp took him off in that match after suffering a knock, but was fine to travel for the Champions League last-16 first-leg trip to Inter.

Henderson began the game on the bench but came on around the hour mark.

At the time, Liverpool were losing control of the game as the Nerazzurri turned the screw after the break.

The 31-year-old looked very assured and composed when he came on, and helped regain control of the midfield.

As the Inter players tired, this helped provide a springboard for Liverpool to break the deadlock and take the lead in the tie.

It was a much better performance from Henderson, and plenty of fans lauded his efforts during and after the game.

Others suggested the £20million man would benefit from playing at No. 6 instead of No. 8, even if it means being Fabinho’s deputy.

Henderson may have had his struggles this season but his quality and experience are invaluable to Liverpool.

There’s certainly going to be food for thought for Klopp as he looks to keep getting the best out of the skipper.
