Liverpool fans praise Robertson for another lung-busting display versus Newcastle
Liverpool got their festive period off to the perfect start yesterday, with a 4-0 Boxing Day thumping of Newcastle to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.
Manchester City’s second consecutive defeat saw them slip down to third and Tottenham are now the Reds’ closest challengers, but sit six points off in second place.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are making it look easy at the moment, but with matches against Arsenal and Manchester City to come, either side of the new year, they are heading for a crunch period.
They are on course for a record-breaking season defensively, which is an incredible transformation from last season, and Andy Robertson has been a huge part of that.

The Scotland international’s energy is a feature of Liverpool’s attacking play but he is incredibly solid defensively too, and has been integral to a backline that has only conceded seven goals so far this season.
That, allied with his humility off the pitch, has made him something of a cult hero at Anfield and Liverpool supporters were full of praise for Robertson after yet another clean sheet yesterday…
The working class hero👏👏👏
