Liverpool cruised to a 4-1 victory over newly-promoted Norwich City in the Premier League curtain-raiser – and some of the club’s supporters picked out attacker Roberto Firmino for his quality performance.

The Reds kicked off their league campaign with an emphatic home win at Anfield on Friday night, with the loss of injured goalkeeper Alisson Becker the only negative.

Jurgen Klopp’s team got all their goals in the first-half and were in front early when Grant Hanley netted an own goal.

Firmino was then instrumental with an assist to teammate Mohamed Salah, who converted in typical fashion once in the penalty area.

Virgil Van Dijk and Divock Original got themselves on the scoresheet too, before Teemu Pukki scored a consolation in the second-half past substitute goalkeeper Adrian.

A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media were left in awe of Firmino for his latest display and feel he looks extremely sharp at the beginning of the season.

The Brazilian centre-forward demonstrated his tremendous work-rate against Norwich, as well as link up play with teammates.

He’s a 27-year-old that looks in the peak of his career and he orchestrates so many of his team’s attacks when he drops into intelligent deeper positions.
